What Is PLR? And How It Can Save You Time And Money
While visiting internet marketing forums, I often hear the question “What is PLR?”. This is actually a very legitimate question because there are a lot of misconceptions about PLR and anyone who is new to internet marketing is bound to be confused by what they read online.
We all know that when it comes to internet marking, content is king. But if you have a blog or website, you are probably already discovering how time consuming it can be to create your own content. If you decide to outsource the writing, then it can become very costly. That’s where PLR comes in.
So, What Is PLR?
PLR stands for Private Label Rights and it refers to the license that you get with a set of articles or an ebook or even a video. Basically, these are articles (or ebooks etc…) that are distributed to many people, thus keeping the costs down.
The rights can be different depending on where you buy them from, but typically you are allowed to edit them in any way you want, claim them as your own and use them on your websites and blogs. In most cases you are not allowed to resell them (that would be master resell rights and that’s a whole other article!). Usually you cannot submit them to article directories unless you rewrite them substantially.
Some PLR can be really crappy, but there are some great quality sources out there (like the PLR packs on this site, for example) and these articles can be a great addition to your website, blog or autoresponder. You can even use them to make free giveaway reports (check the license first but most will allow this).
So, to answer the question “What is PLR?” – I would say it is a very cost effective, easy, way to get fresh content for your website or blog without having to spend hours slaving over the keyboard!
