You’ve probably heard a dozen times that the money is in the list, so having a good email marketing strategy is important and turning visitors into subscribers is critical. One thing you need to test is the number of visitors that sign up after seeing your opt in page. Is it 10%? 50%? Or maybe it’s just 1%. If you are not happy with the conversion rate, you can probably increase it dramatically by offering them something in return for their email address.
Now, it goes without saying that you should be offering them good content in your auto responder messages but what I am talking about is offering them something they can download right away – a free report. But not just any report, you want to offer something that really resonates with what they need. Something that will give them information that they are looking for right now.
In order to implement this email marketing strategy, you need to know a bit about how your visitor thinks. Consider they keywords that are brining them to your opt in page and this will go a long way to telling you what information they are looking for. Offer up some of that information in a free report and I believe you will see a large increase in your opt in rate.
Now, this begs the question – where to get these reports that you can offer your visitors?
If you are good at writing, you might just create it yourself. This can be very time consuming so if you are too busy, you could hire a writer. The report itself doesn’t have to be really long. It’s not the size but the quality that matters here so 10 pages should suffice.
If your niche is not so specialized and you don’t want to spend a ton of money, then consider using a private label report. These reports are already made and you can edit them and change them as you see fit as well as claim authorship. Even though other people might have the same report, the odds that your visitors already have seen it will be slim. So, PLR reports are a great inexpensive way to get a give away report into your email strategy and start getting more sign ups right away.
